Christus church The capital is situated on a level of ca.1700 m, surrounded with Eros-mountains in NE, Auas-mountains in SE and Khomas-Highlands in W. Windhoek is the geographical and political centre of Namibia. It has ca. 200.000 inhabitants and is by that far the biggest city of this country.

History: It was officially found in 1890 during the colonial age by Captain Curt François of the "Deutsche Schutztruppe", before this it the place was sporadically used by Hereros and Nama, who struggled during the aridity for the water of the springs of this region. Kudu-monument Climate: There are 300 days sunshine per year expected. October and November are the hotest month with temperatures between 16 and 39 degrees Celsius. May to July (winter) the temperatures are between 6 and 21 degrees. Nightfrost ist possible. January to April include the rainy season (ca. 305 mm rain per annum in short showers).
